I Wish I Lived in Wisconsin

This picture was taken when I was a bit smaller, but it is one of Dad's favorites so he posted it. I have my Brewers hat on because it was a little cold. I think I was about 5 or 6 months old. Mum and I are in our backyard, looking at the blackberry bush and figuring out what to prune and what to leave alone.

We didn't pick that many berries, because we were on our California trip when they were at their peak.

Pizza Night

Dad made pizza last night. He was baking it when Mum and I got home.

Mum was hungry because she ran 6 1/2 miles with two of her friends in the afternoon. She didn't take me running, though, which was disappointing. Sometimes she puts me in the baby jogger and we just cruise.

We ate tons of pizza and watched Pardon the Interruption with Tony Kornheiser. He says that Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL now, but I disagree. Everybody knows it's Peyton Manning, he's just had a slow start.

Tomatoes are Funny

These are Mr. Z's tomatoes. Mr. Z is Mum and Dad's friend who gave them a bunch of tomato plants that he had grown from seed in his house over the winter. They are yellow and really good.

I like them with a bit of salt, fresh mozzarella and basil, and sprinkled with olive oil. Sometimes Dad puts them on pizza and they are good that way, too.

In addition to tomatoes, we grew beets, lima beans, chili peppers, swiss chard, and lettuce greens. Dad is not going to plant so many chilies next year. He says he went a little overboard.

My New Peeps

These are my two new peeps, Riley and Cole. I've been alive for nine months and I already have two cousins! I think they look fairly similar in this picture, but I'm sure they look different in real life.

Mum and Dad are really excited because they say we will all hang out together. We can go to Camp Randall in Madison because that is where Cole lives. Dad always talks about Wisconsin. And we are going to see Uncle Ben and Aunt Colleen next week for Riley's baptism.

Dad is pretty soft. He gets a little misty when he talks about Riley and Cole. When I start to gnaw on my left foot he laughs, though.

Pro-shoot

Here he is. Dad unveiled his prosciutto today. He had been curing it for a year. He started in the attic but Mum was afraid that squirrels would get in the house. So he moved it to the work room in the garage and hung it there for the winter.

When it got too warm outside he moved it into the basement. We all had to duck everytime we went down there or it would bump us in the head.

It's ready to eat now but I think it's too salty. It tastes like the Bavarian style pretzels that they give us at day care.

Where's Dad?

I have been looking all over for my Dad. Under the table, behind the TV, in the garden.

I think I've found him. He's on the computer, creating a blog for me. He says it will keep track of how I am doing, so everybody who doesn't live here in Rochester will be able to read about me and see new photos.

He says to stay tuned, he's just getting it going.

I don't get it. What is a blog, anyway? All I really want to do is eat Meatball Subs and watch the Bears. I like the Bears. I think Kyle Orton is the new Roethlisberger.
