Ribfest 2006

















Dad took me to Skip’s Meat Market for the first time on Friday. He had to get his ribs for Ribfest and a bunch of other stuff. When we got home he took all of it into the basement and was down there for like an hour.

Dad didn’t even place in the competition, for the fourth year in a row. You could see the disappointment in his eyes. I feel so bad for him. He cooked those ribs for six hours.

During the competition, an hour before the ribs were to supposed to be off the grill, Dom called and asked Dad to start some coals for him. Dom ended up coming in second place. Dad couldn’t believe it, when we got home he said, “Dom cooked his ribs for 45 minutes! On DIRECT HEAT!”

He went back down into the basement for like an hour.
