Some Good Titles
These are some of my favorite books right now, and Dad likes them too. He likes them because they aren't all about the artist or the writer, they try to sneak in a little learning, and use repetition to establish character.
OK everybody- here's what's on my nightstand:
A Father Like That by Charlotte Zolotow (made Dad cry)
When Autumn Comes by Robert Maas (try to find the hidden Lowenbrau)
The Cowboy ABC by Chris Demarest
Froggy Rides a Bike by Jonathan London (he also writes nature themed books which rock- Sled Dog, Jackrabbit, Loon Lake, Sled Dogs Run)
Mouse Practice by Emily McCully (I have all of Monk's lines memorized)
The Adventures of Max and Pinky: Best Buds by Maxwell Eaton III
The Adventures of Bert by Raymond Briggs (when that sausage stars chasing Bert I just crack up)

and our current fave:
THE ABSENTMINDED FELLOW (FROM PORTOBELLO ROAD) by Samuel Marshak
